I don’t remember beer and wine being served at my school’s Science 101 class, but that’s part of the gist of an event this Thursday night.
The South Florida Science Museum’s Young Professionals group is hosting a 21-and-older party called “The Science of Beer & Wine,” featuring beer- and wine-makers and reps from area restaurants, among others.
During the 6-9 p.m. event, BX Beer Depot, PRP Wine and Brewzzi restaurant and brewery will explain the process of beer- and wine-making and offer sample tastings.
Among other presenting sponsors slated to serve up sips and bites: World of Beer, Bistro Ten Zero One, Guanabanas, TooJay’s and Sugar N Cake.
Plans also call for museum educators to busy guests with games and such demonstrations as how to make liquid-nitrogen beer ice cream.
Advance tickets (832-1988 or at www.sfsm.org/events) are $15 for museum members and $20 for non-members.
At the door, tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members. A limited number of VIP brew-your-own-beer is an additional $8.
